Follow conversation on Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ on Twitter:

‘PK’ was one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Bringing back the deadly collaboration of Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film generated enough buzz from the day its first poster leaked. Interestingly, while the buzzword worked completely in the film’s favour, its content is taking it a notch above. An it reflected in the ‘PK’ box office collections figures.

The fact that some right wing outfits are demanding a ban on ‘PK’ for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus is adding to the crowds at the theatres who want to check out first hand what the row is about.

From Rs 26.63 crore on Friday and Rs 30.34 crore on Saturday, the Aamir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer amassed a record Rs 38.24 crore on Sunday, taking the total weekend box office collections to Rs 95.21 crore. It may be noted that ‘PK’ made it to the Rs 100 crore club in just four days.

If it keeps the momentum going, the film will definitely cross the Rs 200 crore in record time.
