'PK' becomes Aamir Khan's second movie to cross the Rs 250-crore mark in box office collections.
Aamir Khan-starrer ‘PK’, the movie with the highest box office collections of the year, has become the second biggest movie of all time with its collections surpassing ‘Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’. The film now has a good chance to break the so far insurmountable huge collections record of ‘Dhoom 3’.
The box office collections of the 2013 action drama stand at Rs 284.27 crore with PK just behind with Rs 278.87 crore. Overall, ‘PK’ also made Rs 435.71 crore worldwide in 10 days, racing toward the Rs 500 crore mark.
‘PK’ has also become Aamir Khan’s second movie to have made a business of over Rs 250 crore. None of the Bollywood superstars, be it Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan, has ever been able to cross the barrier.
As mentioned earlier, the box office collections of Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer touched the Rs 200-crore mark in just nine days, making its the 7th film to do so after Aamir Khan’s previous movie ‘Dhoom 3’, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’, Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’ and ‘3 Idiots’.
With ‘PK’ entering the Rs 200 crore club, Aamir Khan also became the only actor to have a total of three films in the super exclusive club.

Overall, ‘PK’ box office collections stand at Rs 255.77 crore as of Day 12, including Rs 9.11 crore from Tuesday. The business of the movie have remained consistent for the second week in the domestic as well as the overseas markets.
Movie business apart, Aamir Khan blockbuster ‘PK’ has been attracting backlashes from the Hindu organisations for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
‘Protests by Bajrang Dal activists against spread to more places yesterday even as a saddened Rajkumar Hirani, the film’s director, rejected allegations that it was disrespectful to Hinduism and said it upheld the true spirit of religion.
