Aamir Khan’s busy promoting his upcoming sports flick Dangal, but things don’t seem that well with his wife Kiran Rao. The writer-producer’s jewellery, which costing a staggering Rs 50 lakh, was stolen from their residence on Carter Road in Bandra last week. Rao’s father filed a complaint on November 24 with the Khar police under Section 480 (theft in dwelling house) of the IPC. The missing jewellery includes a ring and diamond necklace that were kept in her bedroom.
The domestic help Jhumki, the house cook Farana and Kiran’s assistant Suzanna have been questioned by the police for the last few days and are reportedly the prime suspects in the case. The police have searched the staff’s houses, but have been unable to find any proof, according to a DNA report.
Senior police inspector Ramchandra Jadhav of Khar police confirmed that the case has been registered, according to a report in Hindustan Times. None of the members of the house staff were missing since the day of the incident. Kiran reportedly saw the jewellery for the last time in October, but only noticed some time last week that it was missing altogether. The couple has not made any statement regarding the issue so far.
