It was an opportunity for Smriti Irani to take swipes at Priyanka Gandhi, Congress leader who is not able to answer to the questions posed by the Union textiles minister and BJP leader.
Smriti Irani has been accusing Priyanka of missing in action and being absent from the bastion. It is clear that Ms Irani is not concerned about Rahul Gandhi speaking at Rae Barelli but Priyanka not speaking at Amethi. this provided a big opportunity for Ms Irani to dig at Congress in general and Priyanka Gandhi in particular. Ms Irani said that the Congress has not been able to fulfill its promises in the constituencies to which they belong. Smriti Irani also said that Priyanka has been missing from the scene because she will not be able to face the questions that the people will attack her with.
Even in Kanpur, Smriti Irani stole the show by attacking Priyanka Gandhi saying that every BJP worker wants that the party forms the next
government in Uttar Pradesh, she said on the question of chief ministerial candidate.

The Union Textiles Minister addressed rallies and press conference here confidently but did not give a direct reply when
asked if she would be the party’s chief ministerial candidate if it comes to power. She said that despite losing the Lok Sabha poll from Amethi in 2014 to Rahul Gandhi she has been working for the people of the constituency.
