Congress’ star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will not campaign for the party any further, NDTV reported on Tuesday. The report quoted senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad as saying that Priyanka has taken over the role of election management, and has no time to campaign. As per the report, Azad also added that Congress President Sonia Gandhi will also not campaign for the party due to her poor health. He, however said that Mrs Gandhi’s condition is not too serious. In a video message, Sonia Gandhi has urged voters to support Congress. “Once again the entire country is looking up to you. You all have always supported me. In this election too, you have to vote for the Congress candidates and ensure their overwhelming victory so that they reach Vidhan Sabha.

I urge you to vote for Congress and support my resolution and sentiment,” Sonia had said. Earlier, despite speculations of campaigning for the party, Priyanka didn’t join Rahul Gandhi for his rallies in Amethi. Sharing the stage with Rahul, Priyanka had raked up the ‘outsider’ status of PM Narendra Modi.
“UP doesn’t need a leader from outside. All youth of the state can lead UP, build a new UP.” Commenting on PM Modi’s promises to women of the state, Priyanka said, “I am a woman…Who has committed the most number of atrocities against women, poor. Wasn’t making you stand in queues atrocities against women.” Priyanka attended the rally two-day days after BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani claimed the Congress leader was not campaigning as she had no answers to people’s question in Uttar Pradesh.
