Uttar Pradesh Election 2017: Ravi Shastri has been the voice behind most iconic moments of Indian cricket in past one decade.
From Sachin Tendulkar’s double century in ODI cricket to MS Dhoni’s six in the final of 2011 ICC World Cup, Ravi Shastri has been the voice behind most iconic moments of Indian cricket in past one decade. However, the former Indian captain today took to Twitter and wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah in his trademark style. He said the Bharatiya Janata Party went past the 300-mark in the state like a tracer bullet referring to one of his most used phrases. He posted a tweet that read as, “Congratulations @BJP4India on the landslide win in UP. The pair of PM @narendramodi & @AmitShah went past 300-mark like a #TracerBullet.”

Thank you. UP polls did not quite go down to the wire. But, at the end of the day democracy is indeed the real winner! 🙂 https://t.co/suoTqZtXit

PM Modi also kept his style in place and responded in a similar manner as he did to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi. He posted a tweet saying ‘democracy is indeed the real winner’. Uttar Pradesh assembly elections were supposed to be the litmus test for Bharatiya Janata Party and PM Narendra Modi after the demonetisation move last year. Leading into the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, victory in UP became more important. As it turned out, BJP came out with flying colours winning 325 out 403 seats in a historic mandate thanks to the master strategy of Amit Shah. On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance managed to win just 54 seats.
BJP also formed the government in Manipur and Goa even though it didn’t finish as the single largest party. In Goa, Manohar Parrikar took oath as the new Chief Minister while in Manipur, N Biren Singh became the CM of first BJP-led government in the state.
