Prajapati was present at a poll meeting of the party at Amethi which was addressed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav himself. This revelation sparked public outrage when Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought up the topic while addressing a rally at Varanasi on Saturday afternoon. He blamed Akhilesh Yadav for sleeping over the demand of justice by a daughter. He added that people of Uttar Pradesh have an opportunity to perform last rites of their tormentors by making BJP win.

Meanwhile, today BJP UP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya took a jibe at CM Akhilesh and said that if he cannot get his “favourite” minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati arrested in the rape case, he should at least sack him. Referring to March 11, the date when the UP assembly election results would be declared, Maurya said the BJP would put Prajapati behind bars after that.

Meanwhile, yesterday passports of Prajapati and other accused  have also been revoked so that they cannot fly out of the country.
