UP Elections 2017: Achhe Din for farmers to housing for all, 5 promises Modi is making to win UP

Monday marked the final day of campaigning for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. From Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and BJP President Amit Shah, all addressed rallies at different parts of the state but the star of the day, was, of course, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was in his home constituency of Varanasi for last three days and attracted a massive crowd for his rallies. During his stay in the town, he made many promises to win the election.

Here are 5 promises PM Modi is making to win UP:

1. Housing for all

The Prime Minister said that he wants to ensure housing for all by 2022 when India will complete its 75 years of Independence. “BJP has vowed to provide homes to each and every citizen of India. My dream is to provide a home to every Indian citizen by 2022 and better healthcare housing for poor,” he said.

2. End to corruption, equality for all

He said while Akhilesh Yadav believes in the idea of ‘Kuch ka Saath and Kuch Ka Vikas’, BJP will follow the idea of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. PM promised that youngsters won’t have to bribe as the government will offer them jobs based on their marks.

3. Double income for farmers

Modi’s special focus has been on the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. He said, “To transform the life of the farmer, the NDA government has created a roadmap. We’ll ensure that the farmers’ income is doubled.” said the Prime Minister. He also talked about Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana which protects farmers financially in tough times.

4. LPG connection to 4 Crore families

In another major promise, PM said that he’ll provide 5 crore families with LPG connections in the next 3 years. “We are working for the welfare of people inspired by the ideals of Gandhi and Sardar Patel,” he said.

5. Better law and order

Increasing crime rate has been another major issue for BJP leading into UP elections. Attacking the Samajwadi Party, PM said that under Akhilesh Yadav, all the police stations were converted into party offices and he wants to change that.
