One day after BJP’s astonishing victory in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a roadshow in Delhi which will be followed by a victory walk and a speech. While many senior leaders have like Arun Jaitley and Amit Shah have come out since yesterday and dedicated this victory to PM Modi’s hard work and ideology, it will be his first public appearance after party’s win. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister took to Twitter to express his pleasure over this massive victory. He posted, “A new India is emerging, which is being powered by the strength & skills of 125 crore Indians. This India stands for development.” BJP broke all records on Saturday as it went on win a whopping 325 seats in Uttar Pradesh and swept away all the major political parties like SP, Congress and BSP.

7:45 PM: The Prime Minister has now gone for a Parliamentary Board meeting where the final decision over the new UP CM will be taken. That’s all from here, the blog has ended!
7:20 PM: PM Modi has made his intentions clear by saying that he is not someone who looks at things from election point of view.
7:12 PM: “Through the membership drive, the BJP has been able to become the largest political party in the world. The strength of the poor and the aspirations of the middle class will take India to new heights,” he adds.
7:04 PM: “Antyodaya is integral to our work. We understand the strength of India’s poor. Generations of individuals have given their lives to build this party. They travelled all over India to make the party strong,” says PM Modi.
7:01 PM: PM Modi says our aim is to serve the common man. The result of these elections is also an emotional issue for us because this year is the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay. UP was his ‘Karmabhoomi’ once and winning there is special for us.

6:55 PM: There is a change in the thinking of people in India. People of India, even the poor ones don’t want anything in return. All they want are opportunities and this is the foundation of new India, says PM Modi.
6:52 PM: Other than the emotional issues, development is a big issue in the elections. Not too many leaders have taken development seriously. This election has shown that people have decided to vote for development this year, which is the beginning of a new India.
6:50 PM: He says even though democracy is about forming governments, it is a festival in itself. “Loktantra mein chunaav sarkarein banane ka kaam toh hota hai, par ek lokshikshan ka maha parv hota hai,” Modi said.
