In epic war of words, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav skipped taking each others’ name even as the scribes posed straight questions. Akhilesh Yadav had to cast his vote in Safai Jaswant Nagar’s constituency, where Shivpal is the party candidate. “I have voted for SP candidate (Samajwadi Party ke ummidwaar ko vote dala hai),” Akhilesh said as he was asked if he voted for uncle Shivpal. When asked if he wants his uncle Shivpal Yadav to win elections, he said, ” I want more and more number of Samajwadi candidates to win elections, (Mai Samajhata hu agar jada se jada Samajwadi log chunaav jeete vo bahut accha hai).”
In similar gesture, uncle Shivpal also didn’t utter Akhilesh’s name, while answering a direct question in reference with him. When scribed asked Shivpal on who will be CM if SP wins UP, Shivpal said: “The one who is CM will remain CM (Jo CM hai vahi rahega).”

This was the first time when Akhilesh came to cast his vote without father Mulayam Singh Yadav, when asked why SP patriarch didn’t accompany him, he said: “See whoever is a listed voter, will vote. Everyone will come here to vote. This a difference made by your camera. You can capture anyone and present. (Ye to aapke camera ka dekhne ka fark hai.. apka camera kya dikhata hai).” Akhilesh said that he’s confident of forming government. “Once again Samajwadi Party will be forming the Govt, in alliance with Congress,” he added. “We were ahead in first 2 phases and I am confident that we will be ahead in 3rd phase also.” he said.
Polling for the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017 has started today. The voting today will be crucial for Samajwadi Party and its new president and UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Parties are contesting today for 69 seats in and around SP home turf including Itawah, Mainpuri and Kannauj districts. In the 2012 Assembly Elections, Akhilesh had managed to win 55 seats in the region. A pro-SP voting today will play an important role in the return of Akhilesh government.
