Congress leader and sister of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Dutt believes the party needs to do some serious rethinking after losing the state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Congress leader and sister of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Dutt believes the party needs to do some serious rethinking after losing the state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Talking to media, she said, Congress needs to rebuild the party and not focus on just one person. “We need to rebuild the party, it’s not about one person,” said a frustrated Priyanka after the loss. She added that they way Congress allowed both Goa and Manipur to slip from its grip despite emerging as the single largest party was unfortunate.
She also took to Twitter to show her anger and said Congress suffers from an autoimmune disease and needs a treatment to be healthy again. She posted a Tweet on her handle which read as, “Cong has shown repeatedly thatit suffers from an autoimmune disease Cong destroys Cong we need to be treated from within to be healthy again.”

Priya Dutt is the daughter of legendary film actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. She was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time on 22nd November 2005 from Mumbai North West constituency in Maharashtra. She represented the Mumbai North Central constituency in 2009 Lok Sabha elections but lost to Poonam Mahajan in 2014 General election by a huge margin of 1.86 lakh votes.
The news of infights within Congress have been coming ever since party’s substandard performance in the 2017 assembly elections but Mumbai Congress has been facing the problem for last few years. Reports of rifts between the party leaders came out after Congress’ disastrous performance in BMC polls.
