The result of Exit Polls after the two-month-long election process in five states of the country has left much to be desired. Exit polls have the tendency to fail on many occasions and it cannot be said with certainty that all polls are definitely correct. Different surveys have shown varying results. However, a few trends have been common across the polling agencies, showing that there are certain elements of certainty, even as the clear winners in states may be a debatable issue.

Here we take a look at such five certainties. But be warned, the exit polls can fail miserably:

1) BJP-Sad definitely getting routed in Punjab

All surveys have unanimously predicted a rout for the SAD-BJP combine in Punjab, AAP and Congress are in a neck to neck race for victory in the state.

2) BSP at number 3 in all exit polls

In Uttar Pradesh, BSP appears to be ending up at the third position as per the surveys. Times Now VMR predicts 57-74 seats for BSP, MRC says Mayawati may win 90 seats while ABP-CSDS says it can win just 66 seats.

3) AAP definitely at number three in Goa

All exit polls have predicted the third spot for AAP in Goa. According to India Today-Axis, AAP can win 7 seats. Times Now-MRC has predicted 9 seats for BJP. C-Voter has predicted 0-4 seats for AAP.

4) All polls pointing to BJP win in Manipur

According to the surveys, BJP is likely to win in Manipur. As per projection by MRC, BJP can win 25-31 seats in the 60 member Assembly, while the Congress will end up getting 17-21 seats. C-Voter India predicts 25-28 seats for BJP and 17-23 seats for the Congress. The India Today Axis poll has, however, predicted a Congress win with 30-36 seats and the BJP may end up with just 16-22 seats.

5) All polls putting BJP as leading party in Uttar Pradesh

All major polls have suggested that BJP will emerge as the leading party in the state. According to the Times Now VMR Exit Poll, the BJP, and its allies can win 190 to 210 in Uttar Pradesh. The MRC Exit poll has predicted over 185 seats for the BJP, while ABP-CSDS exit polls say the saffron party can win up to 175 seats

According to India TV C-Voter India survey, BJP can win up to 161 seats, while the SP+Congress can get 141 seats and BSP would have to compromise with 87 seats.
