Yogi Adityanath’s father speaks up, says son ‘always sought only to serve’

Even as Yogi Adityanath gets set to take the reigns of the Uttar Pradesh government as its newest chief minister after emerging the surprise choice of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that was unanimously endorsed by the legislative party meet in Lucknow on Saturday, the man's family is ecstatic and has revealed that they have been following the events with rapt attentions as they unfolded yesterday.

Even as Yogi Adityanath gets set to take the reigns of the Uttar Pradesh government as its newest chief minister after emerging the surprise choice of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that was unanimously endorsed by the legislative party meet in Lucknow on Saturday, the man’s family is ecstatic and has revealed that they have been following the events with rapt attentions as they unfolded yesterday. Not just the family, Yogi’s supporters too have been quite active and from holding hawans to gathering in large numbers and shouting down all rivals’ supporters at the venue yesterday, they have ensured their leader remains in the limelight and the message is successfully conveyed to one and all that he is the indisputable leader of the state party now. While his family is not much into politics, they say Yogi has always charted a path that is unique and that his immense energy and positive attitude gets him to carry out huge amounts of work without a problem.

Yogi’s father revealed that his son was always interested in serving various causes that benefitted people. He said today, “From the very start he had this aim of serving the people.” He added that his responsibility has increased manifold after the BJP’s win in the UP elections and he expects his son to carry out his tasks in a responsible manner. He added, “Now that he has become chief minister, I’m really very happy.”

Yogi Adityanath’s sister, when approached conveyed the excitement the entire family was going through by saying, “We remained glued to our TV yesterday awaiting the news, later we celebrated and burst crackers on the good news.”

For their part, Yogi Adityanath’s supporters in Uttarakhand, he was born there and real name is Ajay Singh Bisht, have also been celebrating non-stop since yesterday and they have all converged on the UP CM designate’s residence in Panchur, Yamkeshwar.

Yogi pipped a number of high profile candidates like Rajnath Singh, Manoj Sinha, Swatantra Dev Singh, among others to be appointed the new UP chief minister with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party President Amit Shah’s blessing.
