Punjab Elections 2017: Harbhajan Singh says ‘whoever wins must honour Punjab before party’

Indian Cricketer Harbhajan Singh visited the polling station in Jalandhar along with his mother Avtar Kaur and waited in line to cast his vote at polling booth no.23. Many people asked the cricketer for a selfie to which he happily obliged. After casting his vote in an interview with the media outside the polling station he said, ‘Pehle 2 parties the, ab 3 hai, kaafhi votes divert honge, par jo bhi jeete woh Punjab ko apne party se pehle rakhe (Earlier there were two parties and now there are three… many votes will be diverted. But whoever wins must honour Punjab before their party).’

Apart from Harbhajan Singh many more known personlaities visited the polling stations in their area, which included Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu along with his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu and BJP leader Hans Raj Hans. After casting his Sidhu in an interview with the media said, ‘Is dharm yudh mei satya ki jeet hone wali hai; Hum sure hain ki sarkar Cong ki banegi;Yahan se Cong ke jhande mei danda lagega.’

Punjab Elections 2017 are being held on February 4, 2017 to select the 117 members for the Punjab Legislative Assembly. The results of the election will be announced on 11 March. Candidates for the election include Current Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh, etc.
