Former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab and Shiromani Akali President, Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed his anguish and disappointment at the voters comparing them to someone who eats too much and then threw up. Speaking to IE, on the day that Congress’ Captain Amarinder Singh took the oath, Badal said that if a man eats too much, he vomited. Speaking in Punjabi, he added “Apan jyada khawa ta lokaan nu”, which translates to ‘We gave people too much to eat’. Badal’a party, SAD, along with its long-time alliance, BJP lost the elections miserably coming third in the race with even fewer seats than the Aam Aadmi Party. He added that the people would learn the value of the SAD-BJP government when they suffer a drought for 5 years. People did not acknowledge the good works of his party, Badal seemed to complain. Sukhbir Singh Badal was accompanied by SAD leader Mantar Singh Brar, who said that the people must ask the Indian National Congress
to deliver on their promises of loan waiving and job opportunity for every family.
