The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar has released the list of constituencies each party will contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. While the BJP and Janata Dal (United) will contest 17 seats each, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) of Ram Vilas Paswan will field six candidates. As per the seat-sharing agreement, the BJP will also send LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan to Rajya Sabha. JD(U) Bihar president Vashisht Narain Singh, BJP state president Nityanand Rai and LJP state president Pashupati Kumar Paras made the announcement during a press conference in Patna. As per the announcement, the LJP will contest from Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria, Jamui and Nawada seats. The JD(U) will contest from Valmiki Nagar, Sitamarhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Karakat, Jahanabad and Gaya. The BJP will contest from Purvi Champaran, Paschim Champaran, Sheohar, Madhuvani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Saran, Ujiarpur, Begusarai, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Arariya, Maharajganj. The name of candidates for all the 40 Lok Sabha seats is likely to be announced in the next two to three days. In the previous Lok Sabha polls, the JD(U) had contested solo and won just two seats. The BJP and LJP had contested elections together and won 28 seats. Meanwhile, the grand alliance members are yet to reach a consensus on seat-sharing agreement. The alliance comprises Congress, RJD, RLSP, HAM, NCP and Left. The state will go to polls in seven phases between April 11 and May 19. Results will be announced on May 23.
