Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections 2024 will be held in three phases. This is the first election in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. The last Assembly elections took place in 2014. The first phase will be on September 18, second on September 25 and the third one on October 1, 2024. The counting of votes will be on October 8. The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has 90 seats. Out of the total 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, 74 are general, seven and nine are reserved for SC, ST candidates respectively. In the first phase voting will be held in 24 seats, including the districts of Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag. In the second, 26 constituencies will vote, including Srinagar, Poonch, Rajouri districts and others. In the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, 40 seats, including Bandipora, Baramulla, Jammu and others, will vote. Political parties in the contest are Congress and National Conference, BJP, Peoples' Democratic Party, Apni Party, CPI(M), J&K People’s Conference, and Democratic Progressive Azad Party.
