LIVE Gujarat Patan election results 2017 of Radhanpur, Chanasma, Patan, Sidhpur, Kheralu, Unjha, Visnagar constituencies: Some feel that the BJP holds an edge in the state, others believe that the Congress’ position in the state may get a boost. However, to be sure of any of the two, one will have to wait for December 18, the result day. The Gujarat election campaign saw the Congress party trying hard to wrest the state away from the BJP, which has ruled the state 22 years straight, while the BJP attempted to convince the public of a fast-paced development in the state. To ensure smooth, the Election Commissioner had instructed that every polling station should be equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) like drinking water, shed, toilet, ramp for the physically challenged voters, a standard voting compartment etc. for the convenience and facilitation of voters. At least 182 women-managed polling stations will also be set up for the entire state of Gujarat for the first time. Coming to the Patan district, as per the 2011 Census, the Patan municipality had a population of 133,744. Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the Jagganath Mandir, located in the district, on the last of the second phase election campaigning. The district went to polls in the second phase, on December 14. As per the Election Commission, Gujarat has 2,22,96,867 registered voters out of which 1,15,47,435 are male voters and 1,07,48,977 are female voters. In the 2nd phase of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017, the Total Number of EVMs to be used is 28,114 and the Total Number of Polling Stations is 25,558.

Radhanpur- Alpesh Thakor, 40, was trailing initially but picked up soon to take a lead in Radhanpur, one of the largest constituencies in Gujarat.
Chanasma- Dilipkumar Viraji Thakor of BJP defeated Desai Raghubhai Merajbhai of Congress.
Patan- Kiritkumar Chimanlal Patel of Congress defeated Desai Ranchhodbhai Mahijibhai of BJP
Sidhpur- Thakor Chandanjii Talaji of Congress defeated BJP’s Jaynarayan Vyas
Kheralu- Dabhi Bharatsinhji Shankarji of BJP won against Desai Mukeshkumar Moghjibhai of Congress
Unjha- Patel Ashaben Dwarkadas of Congress won against BJP’s Patel Narayanbhai Lalludas
Visnagar- Patel Rushikesh Ganeshbhai of BJP won against Congress’ Patel Mahendrakumar S. (Mahesh Patel)
