LIVE Gujarat Gandhinagar election result 2017 from Gandhinagar North, Mansa, Kalol, Khambhat, Borsad, Anklav constituencies: Gujarat Elections, which has become a matter of national speculation due to the close fight between the Congress and the BJP. In the prelude to the assembly polls, Congress President Rahul Gandhi attacked BJP on several fronts ranging from the demonetisation, GST rollout to joblessness. On the other hand, BJP played a masterstroke by announcing various schemes including the massive Rs 6.92 lakh crore infrastructure spending and another Rs 2.11 lakh crore for bank recapitalisation. However, the fate of the two major rival parties is in the hands of the voters. To ensure smooth, the Election Commissioner had instructed that every polling station should be equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) like drinking water, shed, toilet, ramp for the physically challenged voters, a standard voting compartment etc. for the convenience and facilitation of voters. At least 182 women-managed polling stations will also be set up for the entire state of Gujarat for the first time. Coming to the Gandhinagar district, as per the 2011 Census, the Gandhinagar municipality had a population of 1.353 million. The district had a literacy rate of 76.5 per cent in 2001 which rose by an impressive 10 percentage points in 10 years to the literacy rate of 85.78 per cent in 2011. The district went to polls in the second phase, on December 14. As per the Election Commission, Gujarat has 2,22,96,867 registered voters out of which 1,15,47,435 are male voters and 1,07,48,977 are female voters. In the 2nd phase of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017, the Total Number of EVMs to be used is 28,114 and the Total Number of Polling Stations is 25,558.

Mansa- Amitbhai Harisingbhai Chaudhary of BJP defeated Congress’ Patel Sureshkumar Chaturdas
Kalol- Chauhan Sumanben Pravinsinh of BJP won against Parmar Pradhyumansinh Vijaysinh (Panchmahal Zeroxwala) of Congress
Khambhat- Maheshkumar Kanaiyalal Raval of BJP defeated Congress’ Patel Khushmanbhai Shantilal
Borsad- Parmar Rajendrasinh Dhirsinh of Congress won against Solanki Ramanbhai Bhikhabhai of BJP
Anklav- Amit Chavda of Congress defeated Hansakuvarba Janaksinh Raj of BJP
