LIVE Gujarat Anand election result 2017 of Umreth, Anand, Petlad, Sojitra, Matar, Nadiad, Mehmedabad constituencies: In the past few months, Gujarat Elections has turned into an engrossing contest from a settled matter due to the high-octane election campaign by both the parties. The opinion polls before the Gujarat election showed BJP securing the majority but with an extremely small margin. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP looks assured of its comeback, Rahul Gandhi led Congress seems confident of coming to the throne after 22 long years.To ensure smooth, the Election Commissioner had instructed that every polling station should be equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) like drinking water, shed, toilet, ramp for the physically challenged voters, a standard voting compartment etc. for the convenience and facilitation of voters. At least 182 women-managed polling stations will also be set up for the entire state of Gujarat for the first time. Coming to the Anand district, as per the 2011 Census, the Anand municipality had a population of 2.09 million. The economy of the Anand ranges from farming to big scale industries. Major crops include Tobacco and Banana. Anand is home to the famous AMUL Dairy. The district went to polls in the second phase, on December 14. As per the Election Commission, Gujarat has 2,22,96,867 registered voters out of which 1,15,47,435 are male voters and 1,07,48,977 are female voters. In the 2nd phase of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2017, the Total Number of EVMs to be used is 28,114 and the Total Number of Polling Stations is 25,558.

Petlad- Patel Niranjan Purushottamdas of Congress defeated Chandrakant Dahyabhai Patel (C.D.Patel) of BJP
Sojitra- Punambhai Madhabhai Parmar of Congress defeated BJP’s Patel Vipulkumar Vinubhai
Matar- Kesarisinh Jesangbhai Solanki of BJP defeated Congress’ Patel Sanjaybhai Haribhai
Nadiad- Desai Pankajbhai Vinubhai of BJP defeated Congress’ Jitendra Suryakantbhai Patel
Mehmedabad- BJP’s Chauhan Arjunsinh Udesinh defeated Congress’ Gautambhai Ravjibhai Chauhan
