Gujarat Valsad election result 2017 LIVE UPDATES from Dharampur, Valsad, Pardi, Kaprada, Umbergaon constituencies: The Gujarat election campaign by the two rival parties has been intense. The Congress and the BJP, along with the development debate saw the individual attacks coming to the fore as well. From Gabbar Singh Tax to Neech to ‘Pakistan’, the Gujarat election campaign had it all. The state, which saw a fierce election campaign, will give its verdict on December 18. To ensure smooth elections, the Election Commissioner instructed that every polling station should be equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) like drinking water, shed, toilet, ramp for the physically challenged voters, a standard voting compartment etc. for the convenience and facilitation of voters. At least 182 women-managed polling stations will also be set up for the entire state of Gujarat for the first time. Coming to the Navsari district, as per the 2011 Census, the Navsari municipality had a population of 1.411 million of which male and female were 887,222 and 818,456 respectively. The economy of the Valsad district largely depends upon the agriculture and small-scale industry. Securing the votes of both will be a tough challenge for both the parties. As per the Election Commission, the final voter turnout in the first phase of the Gujarat elections for 89 seats stood at 66.75 per cent which is well below 71.32 per cent voter turnout in 2012. The big names in the first phase of the poll included Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Congress’s Shaktisinh Gohil and Paresh Dhanani.
