Gujarat Tapi election result 2017 LIVE UPDATES from Vyara, Nizar constituencies: The high-octane Gujarat election campaign is over but the dust hasn’t settled yet. Both the rival parties – the Congress and the BJP, seem confident of their victory. Will the BJP continue its dream run or the Congress gives a turnaround, come December 18, and the answer will be out in the front? Undoubtedly, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, though his aggressive election campaign, has turned the elections into a nail-biting thriller rather than a one-sided match. To ensure peaceful and people-friendly elections, the Election Commissioner had instructed that every polling station should be equipped with Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) like drinking water, shed, toilet, ramp for the physically challenged voters, a standard voting compartment etc. for the convenience and facilitation of voters. At least 182 women-managed polling stations will also be set up for the entire state of Gujarat for the first time. Coming to the Tapi district, as per the 2011 Census, the Tapi municipality had a population of 806,489. It must be noted that the literacy rate of the district is nearly 84 per cent, well above the state average literacy of 78.03 per cent. As per the Election Commission, the final voter turnout in the first phase of the Gujarat elections for 89 seats stood at 66.75 per cent which is well below 71.32 per cent voter turnout in 2012. The big names in the first phase of the poll included Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Congress’s Shaktisinh Gohil and Paresh Dhanani.
