Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh election results 2017: Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking after leading his party on Monday after the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh election win addressed the media. BJP managed 99 seats in Gujarat, while the ‘Lotus’ bloomed in 44 seats in Himachal Pradesh. PM also congratulated the party coworkers after the election results in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh were announced in their favour. He took to Twitter and said,”Election results in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh indicate a strong support for politics of good governance and development. I salute the hardworking BJP Karyakartas in these states for their hardwork which has led to these impressive victories.” While addressing the media in the evening, PM Modi said, “Firstly, I want to thank the people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh for voting BJP into power.” “People have voted for development,” he added. Talking about the topic of GST and demonetisation PM Modi said,”Lies dished out on GST and demonetisation.”
Recalling the massive win in UP civic elections, PM said,”During UP civic polls, people said that BJP will lose, but the party got full support.” He also said that the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh polls results have proven that people want reform. PM Modi also called the moment as ‘double-khushi.’ The reason behind it is that even after him not being the CM of Gujarat, his fellow party workers have continued to take the development path. Calling the win as a big victory, PM Modi said,”If any government wins after 5 years, then it is big victory in today’s times.” The reason for this win as per the prime minister is development and asked the pollsters must analyse BJP’s 6th Gujarat win. Anticipating the mood of the country, PM Modi said that,”After 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the mood of the country changed into development.”
“This victory gives people’s approval for everything. After 2014, there is hunger for development. Even if you do not like BJP, do not try to derail the progress being made towards development,” PM Modi said.
“So many conspiracies were hatched in Gujarat by Congress, misinformation was being spread. People cannot bear if anyone makes fun of ‘vikas’,” he added.
“30 years back, poison of caste was spread so badly in Gujarat that it took workers like me 30 years to get rid of it. In last few months there were attempts again to sow seeds of casteism, but people rejected it, I congratulate them, but people must be alert,” he said. He also called the victory as the victory of the nation and thanked everyone for the win. He ended his speech by chant of ‘Jeetega Bhai Jeetega, Vikas hi Jeetega. (Development will win and will be victorious).”
