However, the reason is not PM Modi alone but a lot of other factors. From Gabbar Singh Tax to Neech to ‘Pakistan’, the Gujarat election campaign has it all. The state, which saw a fierce election campaign, will decide the fate of the Congress and the future course of the BJP. The contest for Gujarat is significant. The state has had a record of spreading political themes and mobilisations to the rest of the country. Two pivotal figures of the India politics – Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, hail from the state. The Gujarat results are sure to have an impact on the 2019 general elections. Coming to the Devbhumi Dwarka constituency, it had a total of 238059 registered electorates in the 2012 assembly polls. The constituency has two districts Dwarka, considered as the sacred land for Hindus and Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. The constituency had 262 polling stations and went to polls in the first phase on December 9. As per the Election Commission, the final voter turnout in the first phase of the Gujarat elections for 89 seats stood at 66.75 per cent which is well below 71.32 per cent voter turnout in 2012.
