A number of executives and leaders from big corporate companies and multinationals interacted with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee students during its National Level Management Symposium, that was held on February 24-25. This year’s annual Confluencia had a number executives and leaders from major business organisations like Domino’s Pizza, Samsung, Reliance, BlackRock, Philips Healthcare, Dunnhumby, and Godrej among others.
The theme of the 11th Annual Confluencia was “The Next Level”, that dwelled on the constant pace of change and disruptions are being emerged emerging nowadays and how business groups, entrepreneurs, and managers handle them.
Dr Zillur Rahman, Head, Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee, said, “The Next Level of adaptive and resilient businesses are the ones that are well equipped to handle change and create blue oceans of opportunity. The speakers discussed ideas, values and attributes that are fundamental for businesses to make the transformation to that ever-elusive next level.”
The major themes of discussions between Management Students and speakers were the effects of technological disruptions like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Analytics on a number spheres of life and business, like Finance, Talent Acquisition, Retail Employee Engagement and Healthcare. During discussions, speakers reinforced on constant learning, Ideas of humility, willingness to change and adapt, giving examples from their own experiences.
The event gave students to understand the industry, its work culture and best practices they would take up themselves in future. Speakers also said their motivations behind coming to the event was to stay in touch with the young managers and opinions they are driven by.
