Country’s esteemed Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has issued notification for its entrance examination, Navbharat Times reports. The examination will be held between 27 December to 30 December in 53 cities, along with Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. The report says that the process of filling online application will begin from September 15 and will continue till 13 October. Earlier, JNU exams used to be held between May and June to December. The move to push the dates of examination was taken two years after it was put forward at a meeting of the varsity’s Academic Council (AC) and approved at a Standing Committee meeting.
Earlier, the move was put on hold to study its feasiblity, Indinexpress.com reports. “The entrance exams for 2018 will be conducted in December this year. A committee has been formed to find modalities to conduct the exam,” JNU VC M Jagadesh Kumar had said. Kumar had said that JNU was trying to fill all vacancies available with faculties in MPhil and PhD courses in December. “We are also asking the centres to tell us about the vacancies available with each teacher. Once we receive the information, it will be put on the prospectus. It is the responsibility of the centres to inform us about the vacancies,” Kumar had said.
