JEE MainsAprill 2019 dates: As the Lok Sabha Elections start from April 11, the National Testing Agency has changed the dates of Joint Entrance Examination (mains) which was earlier scheduled to be held from 7th April to 20th April.

Now, paper 1 (BE/ BTech) will be held on 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th April, while Paper 2 (B Arch/ B Planning) will be held on 7th April. The elections start from April 11th and will continue in seven phases across the country – on April 11, 18, 23 and 29 and on May 6, 12 and 19.

The JEE mains admit cards will be released on 20th March at the official website of JEE – jeemain.nic.in.

The exam will be conducted online – in computer based mode only. Only the drawing test for B Arch, Paper 2, will be conducted offline. Paper 1 will have entirely objective type questions whereas Paper 2 will have the mathematics and aptitude section, which will be objective, along with the drawings section which will be subjective.

Both the exams will have a duration of three hours. The first paper will be conducted in two shifts – from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The second paper will be conducted in one shift only.

The exam will have negative marking – with four marks awarded for every right answer and one mark deducted for every wrong answer.

The JEE Mains exam are being conducted twice a year from this year onwards. Every candidate will be allowed to sit for both the exams – and the one in which the candidate scores better will be taken into consideration. The first JEE Mains exam of 2019 was conducted in January, and around 8.74 lakh candidates appeared for it.
