HBSE 12th result 2017: The Class XII results of Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE), which were declared yesterday, saw a marginal improvement as against last year, a report by Indian Express said. This year, the pass percentage has gone up to 64.50 compared to 62.40 in 2016, when the pass percentage had dropped following the introduction of marks moderation policy in the state. Girls have continued to outshone boys with former getting pass percentage of 73.44 and later 57.58 percent. Rewari has shown best performance with passing percentage of 74.4. It was followed by Jhajjar, where 71.51 of students passed. Faridabad and Gurugram continued with their poor performances. While Faridabad recorded just 47.86 pass percentage, just 52.01 percent students passed in class XII examinations, the paper added.
Rewari’s Harish Sharma, a science stream student of Vivekananda Senior Secondary School, Kosli, topped in the state. He scored 489 out of 500 marks. While, Urvashi, a student of Vijeta Public School in Karnal, topped in the commerce stream, by scoring 490 out of 500 marks, Smile, a student of Aarohi Model Senior Secondary School in Fatehabad, topped in the arts stream. She scored 483 out of 500 marks.
Chairman of the Board Dr Jagbir Singh, while announcing the results in Bhiwani said a total of 2,10,867 students took part in exams, out of which 1,36,008 passed. As many as 42,245 students received got a compartment, while 30,966 failed. In correspondence exams, 1,18,866 students appeared out of which 68,446 students passed and 67,562 girls passed out of 92,001 who appeared for Class XII exams, the Indian Express reported.
In rural areas, the pass percentage of students was 66.92 percent, while in urban areas it was 60.26, PTI had said yesterday.

“There are around 5,000 examinee whose Aadhaar numbers have not been updated as they have failed to submit it. Though their results have been declared on the Board’s website, keeping in view the interest of the students, but their certificates would not be issued without the Aadhaar number”, a spokesperson was quoted as saying by PTI yesterday.
