All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the calendar of Training And Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Programme (FDP) for the academic year 2022-23. The objective of redesigned ATAL Academy FDP 2022-23 is effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2022, an official statement said.
The calendar was launched by professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe, chairman, AICTE for redesigned, collaborative and learner centric faculty development programmes. Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was launched in the August presence of professor M P Poonia, vice chairman, AICTE and professor Rajive Kumar, member secretary, AICTE.
“The higher education system is passing through a transformational phase to cope up with the global trends. NEP is a lighthouse for this journey of transformation. Quality teachers’ community is always a potential force to enforce the changes and plays a pivotal role in development of knowledge building, knowledge sharing and its dissemination,” Sahasrabudhe said.
The objective of the programme is value addition through methods such as application of knowledge in emerging thrust areas, critical thinking, problem solving, team building, and project management. “The new skills required for education 4.0 are complex complex solving, critical thinking , creativity, people management, teamwork and collaborations, cognitive flexibility, emotional intelligence, ” an official said in the event.
ATAL, which is AICTE’s Training and Learning Academy, is aimed to impart quality Faculty Development Programmes (FDP) for faculty so that the sound domain knowledge and associated skills of the subject. Its
Furthermore, it added that the FDP aims to provide the participants with real life experience and industry knowledge. It aims to emphasise on domain knowledge and associated analytical skills of the subject.
“The programme aims to focus on pedagogy-requisite teaching skills needed to scientifically plan for instructional delivery, communicate the knowledge and skills to the students in an efficient manner and assess teaching-learning effectiveness,” the statement added.
