The US has a “very special relationship” with India and it will continue to work with the country in various areas of mutual cooperation, a top official has said ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s expected visit here next month.
“This is a very special relationship,” State Department Spokesman John Kirby told reporters at his daily news conference.
He made the remarks in response to a question on the expected visit of Modi to Washington early next month.
“It’s one that we are very committed to. We look forward to continuing to work with Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi on all the different areas in which the United States and India will and must work together,” Kirby said.
