Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu on Saturday thanked the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party for their announcement on the One Rank One Pension (OROP), saying he was 'indebted forever'.

Haryana Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu on Saturday thanked the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party for their announcement on the One Rank One Pension (OROP), saying he was ‘indebted forever’.

“Ex servicemen of Harayana are delighted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally fulfilled the promise. As an ex-serviceman and ex-organiser of the ex-servicemen rally, I am greatly indebted to the PM,” said Captain Sindhu.

Captain Sindhu further added that the announcement had finally lifted the curse that was set up on ex-servicemen for 42 years, when OROP was withdrawn in 1973. “The injustice finally ends,” added Captain Sindhu.

Captain Sindhu mentioned the burden the Government of India would hence suffer.

“I am thankful to the central leadership of the BJP. While announcing OROP which will entail a burden of 10,000 crores annually on the ex-chequer, not withstanding that, the GOI still promised to handle any future problem of pensions of ex-servicemen through the one person commission,” added Captain Sindhu.

The NDA Government made an announcement regarding the acceptance of the OROP today. But, they accepted only one out of the six points put forward by the protesting war veterans.

The protesting ex-servicemen however said that they were not completely satisfied with the announcement made by the defence minister.
