
In yet another public friendly move, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today flagged off two trains through video conferencing in New Delhi. These Indian Railways trains are from Hubballi to Varanasi and Mysuru – this was done due to popular demand, according to news agency PTI. Hubballi is an upcoming training center that is gradually gaining in importance and the demand for same will rise. Railways has named the Hubballi-Mysuru train as Vishwa Manav Express, Union Minister Prabhu revealed.
He added that the name is quite appropriate as it indicates the significance of connecting these two important cities.
Railways revealed that Hubballi-Mysuru Express will be a daily service and connect Mysuru. The weekly Hubballi-Varanasi Express will serve pilgrims going to holy city Varanasi.
The weekly Hubballi-Varanasi-Hubballi Express will stop at Gadag, Badami, Bagalkot, Almatti, Bijapur, Solapur, Daund, Ahmadnagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Chheoki and Mirzapur stations en route both directions, PTI revealed.
The daily Hubballi-Mysuru-Hubballi Express will stop at Yalvigi, Haveri, Byadgi, Ranibennur, Harihar, Davangere, Chikjajur, Ajjampur, Birur, Kadur, Arsikere, Tiptur, Tumakuru, Yesvantpur, KSR Bengaluru City, Kengeri, Bidadi, Ramanagaram, Channapatna, Maddur, Mandya, Pandavapura, Shrirangapattana stations.

Yesterday, Union Minister Suresh Prabhu had also flagged off the much-awaited Tejas Express from Mumbai to Karmali in Goa. The new train covers the 630 km distance in under 9 hours and has ultra-modern amenities on board. During the launch Minister Prabhu said, “Indian Railways has launched a major initiative to improve the safety of railway coaches. The railways will soon begin retrofitting of 40,000 coaches”.
