Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju as the nodal minister of MoRTH has approved a sum of Rs 10 crore as immediate relief for Arunachal Pradesh.
The sanction came when Arunachal PWD Minister Gojen Gadi accompanied with Chief Engineer (highway) HageApa, OSD SE L D Thongdok, AE S N Tyagi called on Rijiju at his New Delhi office on Wednesday evening, and apprised him of massive landslides and damages to roads in the capital complex.
Roads linking Banderdewa and Hollongi have suffered the most from torrential rain this month.

The team led by Rijiju was to call on MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari, who asked Rijiju over telephone to approve the Rs.10 crore on his behalf as he was about to go on tour, Gadi said.
Gadkari asked to resume maintenance works immediately and asked to submit a letter to the ministry accordingly.
However, a central team headed by MoRTH’s chief engineer (NE region incharge) would visit on June 14 next to inspect the damages caused and ongoing maintenance, Gadi quoted Rijiju, as saying after discussing it with the CE.
