India’s water reserves have remained lower than a year ago for six straight weeks now, as monsoon deficit widened further to mark a 15% drop from the benchmark average following its withdrawal from parts of the country over the past few days.

According to the water resources ministry, storage across 91 reservoirs hit 92.38 bcm up to Thursday against 120.06 bcm a year ago.
