Modi in Iran: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded ceremonial welcome in Tehran on Monday following which he exchanged ideas with President Hassan Rouhani at a restricted tete-a-tete. Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar was also present in the meeting. Prime Minister Modi, who is presently in Tehran on a two-day state visit to Iran, will have crucial meetings later in the day with leaders of the host country.
Several agreements of economic and strategic importance and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a series of projects are expected to be signed between both sides.
