June CPI inflation rises to 5.77% versus 5.76% in May

Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation for the month of June rose marginally to 5.77% versus 5.76% in May and 5.40% in June 2015. CPI inflation is entering the sticky zone and is likely to remain in this zone for the coming months.

Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation for the month of June rose marginally to 5.77% versus 5.76% in May and 5.40% in June 2015. CPI inflation is entering the sticky zone and is likely to remain in this zone for the coming months.

Food inflation rose to 7.79% versus 7.55% month-on-month. While urban inflation rose to 5.26% versus 4.89% in May, rural inflation dipped marginally to 6.20% versus 6.45% in May.

Sugar & Confectionery inflation was reported at 16.79% versus 13.96% month-on-month. Urban Consumer Housing inflation rose to 5.46% versus 5.35% month-on-month. Pulses & Products Price inflation declined to 26.86% versus 31.57% month-on-month.

Milk & Products Inflation came in at 3.43% versus 3.53%, and Cereals & Products inflation was 3.07% versus 2.59% month-on-month.
