Gujarat Budget 2018-19 updates and highlights: Gujarat deputy CM and finance minister Nitin Patel today presented the Gujarat Budget 2018-19. The Budget session of the state started on Monday. The session will conclude on March 28, during which the Legislative assembly is expected to pass at least six bills. The Budget session, which has started over two months after new BJP government came to power in December last year, is also expected to be stormy with the increase in the strength of the opposition benches. Some fireworks are expected from “youth” MLAs like Jignesh Mevani and Alpesh Thakore.

A year before the 2019 General Elections, Patel was expected to announce a populist budget to gain back the voters BJP lost to its rivals in the last Assembly elections.
