Congress leader P.C. Chacko on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Digital India' initiative has only been possible because of the strong foundation set by the UPA government.
“The people of India are quite aware that the Telecom Revolution took place in India during the UPA period and not now. What they are now planning to do, whether it is mobile banking, everything is possible because the foundation was set by the UPA government,” Chacko told ANI.
The Prime Minister earlier launched the ‘Digital India Week’ at Indira Gandhi indoor stadium in the national capital with a view to empower the people of the country through the Digital India programme.
Digital India aims to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.
