The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday sought a clarification from Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal’s government on the issue of conversion of industrial plots in the capital city.
Reacting to Power and Industry Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin’s letter to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung, Satish Upadhyay, president of the BJP’s Delhi unit, said, “This is already a land transfer deal, which indicates that some kind of questions marks are there. So, the Delhi Government needs to clarify this.”
On Sunday, media filed reports that said that Gamlin had written a letter to Jung in which she complained about Delhi’s Industries Minister Satyendar Jain allegedly putting pressure on her to facilitate conversion of an industrial plot from leasehold to freehold.
Gamlin further claimed that Jain had put pressure on her despite knowing that the industrial plot in question did not come under the Delhi Government’s jurisdiction.
