In a move that is sure to pinch people's budget, the Bihar government on Tuesday raised tax on diesel and petrol.

In a move that is sure to pinch people’s budget, the Bihar government on Tuesday raised tax on diesel and petrol. Nitish Kumar led-govt increased tax on diesel from 18 per cent to 19 per cent and petrol from 24.5 per cent to 26 per cent. These added taxes will directly affect price of petrol and diesel. As of now-Petrol (Gasoline) price in Patna is Rs. 63.03 per litre, diesel fuel price is Rs.55.31 per litre and kerosene price is Rs.14.7 ( approximately ).

Oil marketing companies had cut petrol and diesel price by Rs 1.42 litre and Rs 2.01 a litre, respectively,  the third reduction in rates in July on global cues
