President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that India is a bright spot in an otherwise “gloomy global economic scenario”.

Expressing confidence that India will achieve an 8-8.5% growth rate this fiscal, President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday said that India is a bright spot in an otherwise “gloomy global economic scenario”.

The president stated that an 8-8.5% growth rate was possible this financial year due to moderating inflation, strong currency reserves, lower current and fiscal deficit and stable tax policy.
