Vedanta Aluminium, a producer of aluminium products has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two manufacturing companies—Singhal Steel & Power Pvt. Ltd (a unit of Singhal Group of Industries) and SCOT-AL Metcon Pvt. Ltd. (an associate of Scottish Chemical Industries and UAL Industries). These companies will set up downstream aluminium manufacturing units at the upcoming Vedanta Aluminium Park in Jharsuguda, Odisha, according to an official statement.

The Vedanta Aluminium Park in Jharsuguda is planned as an industrial ecosystem for downstream aluminium industries. Its aim is to boost value-added production, support MSMEs, and strengthen Odisha’s position as a global aluminium hub. The project is expected to bring in investments of over ₹500 crore and generate around 1,500 direct and indirect jobs in the state, according to the company.

“This initiative reinforces Odisha’s position as a leading industrial destination. The Vedanta Aluminium Park will accelerate investments, create large-scale employment and strengthen the state’s manufacturing capabilities across sectors,” Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State, Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education, Odisha said.

The Aluminium Park is also expected to drive industrial diversification by creating a supportive environment for downstream businesses to grow efficiently. It aligns with the Odisha government’s vision of building modern industrial infrastructure.

The first phase of the Vedanta Aluminium Park will cover around 56 acres. It marks a key step in Odisha’s industrial growth by bringing together investment and industrial capability, the company noted. 

The park is expected to help companies reduce logistics costs, energy use, and production time, while creating new opportunities across the aluminium value chain and supporting the state’s overall economic development.
