Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Gujarat today and officially inaugurated the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway. The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway (NE-8) stretches over 109 km and forms an important part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana. The expressway is designed to ease the daily lives of thousands of commuters by seamlessly connecting Ahmedabad and Dholera and reducing travel time. Faster Journeys and more connectivity : How the Expressway is Changing Travel ?

For everyday commuters the Ahmedabad–Dholera expressway has made the travel between Ahmedabad and Dholera easy by reducing the travel time and distance. The expressway has reduced the journey from Ahmedabad to Dholera from around 100 km and over two hours to just 83 km and about 45 minutes. Similarly, the travel between Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar now takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes instead of more than three hours. This reduction in time and distance makes the journey smooth for commuters.

The Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway connects rural areas with urban centers, making travel faster, smoother, and more efficient. This enhanced connectivity makes it easier for people to travel between cities and industrial hubs, while also encouraging investment and development in nearby areas.

How Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway transformed the daily commute?

Harshdeep Singh Chudasma who is the resident of Pipli Village shared that the expressway has transformed how his family relates to the city. In a PIB Release he stated “Two years ago, we felt that we lived very far from Ahmedabad as Ahmedabad was almost 120 to 130 kilometres away. But ever since this expressway was built, it feels like we live in Ahmedabad itself. Today, reaching Ahmedabad takes just 45 minutes, compared to two and a half hours earlier.”
