Southern Railway has issued a notice regarding the regulation of several trains in the Palakkad Division during December 2025, citing the approval of Fixed Time Corridor Blocks. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly as certain trains will experience delays ranging from 10 minutes to over an hour.
Key trains affected and revised timings
Train No. 08539 Visakhapatnam – Kollam Special, departing Visakhapatnam at 08.20 hrs on 16th, 23rd, and 30th December, 2025, will be regulated for 10 minutes en route. Similarly, Train No. 07313 Hubballi – Kollam Special leaving Hubballi at 15.15 hrs on 21st and 28th December will also be regulated for 10 minutes en route.
Other trains facing adjustments include Train No. 07106 Kollam – Narasapur Special leaving Kollam at 02.30 hrs on 30th December, which will be delayed by 20 minutes. Train No. 16382 Kanniyakumari – Pune Express departing Kanniyakumari at 08.40 hrs on 21st and 27th December will face a 40-minute regulation.
Longer delays for select express trains
Train No. 12521 Barauni – Ernakulam Jn Weekly Express, leaving Barauni at 22.50 hrs on 28th December, will be delayed by 1 hour. Meanwhile, Train No. 12511 Gorakhpur – Thiruvananthapuram North Raptisagar Tri-Weekly Superfast Express departing Gorakhpur at 06.40 hrs on 4th January 2026 will face a 1 hour 10 minutes delay.
The West Coast Express services will also experience adjustments. Train No. 22638 Mangaluru Central – Dr MGR Chennai Central departing at 23.45 hrs on 11th and 18th December will be regulated by 40 minutes, while departures on 16th, 21st, 23rd, and 28th December will be delayed by 10 minutes. Additionally, Train No. 22637 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mangaluru Central departing at 13.25 hrs on 22nd December will face a 1 hour 40 minutes delay and a 1-hour delay on 23rd December. Train No. 12685 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Mangaluru Central, departing at 16.20 hrs on 22nd December, will also be regulated for 20 minutes en route.
