Southern Railway has lined up 16 special train services across two routes in September 2026, offering additional travel options between Hubballi-Rameswaram and Tuticorin-Narasapur. Of these, eight services will operate between Tuticorin and Narasapur, while another eight services have been added between Hubballi and Rameswaram through an extension of the existing special trains.
The services will operate on select dates throughout September, with advance reservations open for both sets of trains, according to the official update by the Southern Railways on X.

Hubballi-Rameswaram special trains extended
The service period of Train Nos. 07355/07356 Hubballi-Rameswaram-Hubballi Express Specials has been extended, with four additional services in each direction during September.
Train No. 07355 Hubballi-Rameswaram Express Special will leave Hubballi at 6:50 am on Sundays and reach Rameswaram at 5:20 am the following day.
The four additional services will operate on September 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2026.
On the return leg, Train No. 07356 Rameswaram-Hubballi Express Special will depart Rameswaram at 8 pm on Mondays and arrive at Hubballi at 7:40 pm the following day. It will operate on September 7, 14, 21 and 28.
Southern Railway said, “The service period of Train Nos. 07355/07356 Hubballi–Rameswaram–Hubballi Express Specials has been extended with 4 additional services in each direction during September 2026.”
The extended services will continue with their existing timings, stoppages and composition. Advance reservations are already open from the Southern Railway end.
Tuticorin-Narasapur specials to handle passenger rush
Southern Railway has separately announced special trains between Tuticorin and Narasapur to clear the extra passenger rush.
Train No. 06019 Tuticorin-Narasapur Special will depart Tuticorin at 11:30 pm on September 7, 14, 21 and 28. It will reach Narasapur at 12:20 am on the third day.
In the opposite direction, Train No. 06020 Narasapur-Tuticorin Special will leave Narasapur at 4 am on September 9, 16, 23 and 30. It will arrive at Tuticorin at 4:30 am the following day.
Advance reservations for the Tuticorin-Narasapur special trains opened at 8 am on August 22, 2026.
Announcing the services, Southern Railway said it was running the special trains between Tuticorin and Narasapur “to clear the extra passenger rush.”

According to the Southern Railway graphic, the notified stoppages include Tuticorin, Tutimelur, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudunagar, Madurai, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Tirupadiripuliyur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore, Nellore, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Tenali, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Kaikalur, Akividu, Bhimavaram Town and Narasapur.
