Central Railway has decided to regularise the Pune-Kolhapur-Pune Special Train and operate it as a daily Express service from October 20. Special Train Nos. 01023/01024 will be replaced by regular Train Nos. 11419/11420 Pune-Kolhapur-Pune Express, which will run daily.
Train No. 11419 Pune-Kolhapur Express will depart Pune at 9:40 pm every day from October 20 and reach Kolhapur at 5:08 am the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 11420 Kolhapur-Pune Express will leave Kolhapur at 9:50 pm daily from October 20 and arrive in Pune at 5:10 am the next day.
Pune-Kolhapur Express: Route and stoppages
The regular service will halt at Sasvad Road, Jejuri, Nira, Lonand, Wathar, Satara, Koregaon, Rahimatpur, Targaon, Masur, Karad, Takari, Kirloskarwadi, Bhilavdi, Sangli, Miraj, Jaysinghpur, Hatkanangale, Rukadi and Vilavade.
The train will have 18 coaches, comprising one AC 2-Tier coach, four AC 3-Tier coaches, seven Sleeper Class coaches, four General Second Class coaches, one Second Seating-cum-Guard’s Brake Van and one Generator Car.
Solapur-Daund, Solapur-Kalaburagi trains regularised
In another development, Central Railway has also regularised special trains operating on the Solapur-Daund, Solapur-Kalaburagi and Daund-Kalaburagi routes. These services have been converted into regular trains with new train numbers from August 15, 2026.
Special Train Nos. 01461/01462 have been converted into regular Train Nos. 71434/71433 Solapur-Daund-Solapur Daily Passenger.
Similarly, Special Train Nos. 01465/01466 will now operate as regular Train Nos. 71435/71436 Solapur-Kalaburagi-Solapur Daily Passenger.
For the Daund-Kalaburagi route, Special Train Nos. 01421/01422 have been converted into regular Train Nos. 51301/51302 Daund-Kalaburagi-Daund Fast Passenger, which will run five days a week, except Sunday and Thursday.
Special Train Nos. 01425/01426 will operate as regular Train Nos. 51303/51304 Daund-Kalaburagi-Daund Fast Passenger two days a week, on Sunday and Thursday.
The regularisation of these services is expected to provide more predictable train operations and improve travel options for passengers on the Pune-Kolhapur and Solapur-region routes.
