Boost to inter-State rail connectivity
The Railways said the detailed timetable for the three weekly Amrit Bharat Express services and the daily passenger train would be announced separately. These new trains are expected to enhance inter-State connectivity linking Kerala with Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Amrit Bharat Express trains have been introduced to provide affordable, safe and reliable long-distance travel for common passengers. Designed to bridge the gap between conventional mail and express services and premium trains, they offer improved amenities, enhanced safety features and better ride comfort at economical fares. With modern coaches, upgraded interiors, improved passenger information systems and a focus on punctual operations, the new services aim to strengthen regional mobility and promote inclusive growth, the Railways said in a statement.
