As the winter begins to bid adieu to the people in India, the Indian Railways took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a mesmerising view of trains piercing through the snowclad picturesque landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

The video shared by the Indian Railways takes you through a journey of the landscape of India’s crown jewels. It plays with the strings of your traveler self, making you think about taking a quick vacation to winterland before winter is over for good.

Sharing the video, the Indian Railways wrote, “Experience the stunning view of a snow-clad Jammu and Kashmir with Indian Railways.”

The video shows various trains covered in snow making cutting through the white sheets gracefully. One of the locations which could be identified in the video was Qazikund.

Jammu and Kashmir weather

As per India Meteorological Department’s weather update today, a weather system known as a Western Disturbance, manifesting as a trough in the mid-troposphere, extends approximately along longitude 60°E to the north of Latitude 30°N. Concurrently, a cyclonic circulation is present over Punjab in the lower tropospheric levels. As a result of this atmospheric setup, there was a likelihood of light isolated rainfall or snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh today, and over Uttarakhand tomorrow. 

Furthermore, a new Western Disturbance is forecasted to bring isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall over the Western Himalayan Region on February 17 and 18.
