Hyundai Motor India got recognised as a Top Employer 2026, the third consecutive certification. The company scored higher than in 2025, securing the fourth position nationally and the top rank in the automobile sector, according to the Top Employers Institute.
According to the company, the improved ranking signals not just continuity but strengthening execution across core HR areas at a time when companies are under pressure to retain talent and build future-ready workforces.
What the assessment measures
The Top Employers Institute evaluates organisations through a detailed HR Best Practices Survey covering six core domains and 20 topics. These include people strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning and development, diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), and employee wellbeing.
The framework assesses how closely people policies are aligned with business priorities and how effectively organisations translate intent into employee outcomes.
Focus on capability building and inclusion
According to the company, its people strategy is anchored in equal opportunity, continuous capability development and a culture of trust and high performance. The positioning of these elements is central to building an inclusive and future-ready workplace, the company added.
As per the company, this focus on structured learning, internal capability building and inclusion contributed to its strong performance in the 2026 evaluation, helping it stand out within the automobile sector.
Alignment with long-term business goals
“Their strong alignment between people strategy and organisational goals, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrates the impact of their transformative practices,” Adrian Seligman, chief executive officer of the Top Employers Institute, said.
Leadership emphasis on ‘People First’
“Hyundai Motor India is deeply honoured to be recognised as a Top Employer in India for the third consecutive year, ranking 1st in the automobile sector and 4th across all industries in 2026. This distinction reflects our ‘People First’ philosophy and underscores our commitment to building a future-ready and inclusive workplace, where people are empowered through equal opportunities, continuous capability development and a culture built on trust and high performance,” Tarun Garg, MD & CEO – HMIL said.
He added that the ranking was a reflection of the organisation’s values and the role of its workforce in driving Hyundai’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’.
