VA Tech WABAG (WABAG), a leading pure-play water technology multinational group, continues to strengthen its leadership in the industrial water treatment segment by securing a ‘large’ order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) for advanced technology water treatment facilities for the Bina Petchem and Refinery Expansion Project at Bina, Madhya Pradesh.
VA Tech WABAG has secured a large order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) for water treatment facilities for a refinery project in Madhya Pradesh.
Project key details
As per the company’s regulatory filing, the large order ranges anywhere between Rs 250 crore and Rs 600 crore. BPCL has awarded this contract to WABAG for advanced technology water treatment facilities at its Bina Petchem and Refinery Expansion Project at Bina, Madhya Pradesh.
Under the scope of work, the order comprises a water block package, including a raw water treatment plant (RWTP), a reverse osmosis-based demineralisation plant (RODMP), and a zero liquid discharge plant (ZLDP) for BPCL’s Bina refinery.
Additionally, WABAG will also undertake the design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning (EPC) of the facilities.
The water treatment company added that the contract is scheduled to be executed over a period of 22 months. The order is domestic in nature and has been made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations & Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Commenting on the order win, S Natrajan, Head of Sales & Marketing, India Cluster, said, “We are delighted to receive this ‘large’ industrial water treatment order, including a ZLD solution from BPCL, and sincerely thank them for the confidence reposed in WABAG’s technological expertise and execution capabilities.”
He further added that the contract will help strengthen WABAG’s position in the oil and gas sector. “This award further reinforces WABAG’s leadership position in the oil and gas sector and underscores our strong track record in delivering complex, technology-intensive water projects. We remain fully committed to executing this state-of-the-art project to the highest standards of quality, reliability, and operational performance,” Natrajan said.
The company clarified that neither its promoters nor its promoter group have any interest in the awarding entity, BPCL. It further added that no related party transactions are involved.
WABAG & BPCL: Share price
Following the order win, VA Tech WABAG share prices has risen 1%. But over the past one month, the company’s stock has declined nearly 6%.
Meanwhile, BPCL’s share price was down by over 1%, and over the past one month, the company’s stock has declined by over 3%.
